New Progression: Soul Society and Rukia

Reach Soul Society through Hueco Mundo's portal, then speak with the Rukia Week NPC to start the blade quest. Early steps include Soul Reaper Badge from Aizen, Ice Shard collection, Hollow farming, and Zangetsu checks against Weak Rukia before the full Rukia Bankai boss gate. The Ice Queen NPC opens the V Skill chain after you hold Rukia's Blade.

Bankai objectives stack in order: consume 100 Ice from Mohawk on Glacier Isle, defeat Aizen 25 times while wielding Rukia's Blade, activate Rukia skills 250 times, then farm Freezing Shards from the Rukia Bankai boss altar on Throne Island. Ice Shards from codes and spawn nodes are not Freezing Shards — confusing the two stalls the quest counter.

IceQueenRises delivers 800 Fragment of Rogue, Summon Orbs, and Damage Shards for mid-game Forge pushes. Redeem all three once per account through Settings → Misc after the July 17 wave if you still need baseline Gems.

Pair code Ice Shards with the Rukia quest rather than skipping straight to Throne Island before the quest UI unlocks shard farming.
